Day 1: Machame Gate (1,800m) – Machame Camp (2,835m)
Distance: 11 km
Hiking Time: 5–7 hours
Vegetation: Rainforest
Begin your adventure at Machame Gate after registration. Trek through lush forest filled with birds, monkeys, and moisture-loving plants. Arrive at Machame Camp for your first night under canvas.

Day 2: Machame Camp – Shira Camp (3,850m)
Distance: 5 km
Hiking Time: 4–6 hours
Vegetation: Moorland
Leave the rainforest behind and climb steadily to the Shira Plateau, with wide-open views and volcanic features. This zone is drier and more open.

Overnight: Shira Camp
Day 3: Shira Camp – Lava Tower (4,630m) – Barranco Camp (3,976m)
Distance: 10 km

Ascend to Lava Tower, your highest point so far, and then descend to Barranco Camp. This climb high, sleep low strategy helps your body adjust to the altitude.

Day 7: Mweka Camp – Mweka Gate (1,640m) – Transfer to Hotel
